All-new Ford Endeavour launched at a price of INR 24.75 lacs onwards

Mumbai, 20 January 2016:  Ford has launched the 2016 All-New Ford Endeavour at a price starting at INR 24.75* lacs and going up to INR 29.50* (*ex-showroom Mumbai) for the top variant. The new Endeavour comes in two engine options - the Ford Duratorq TDCi 2.2L & 3.2L diesel engines respectively and there are 6 variants in all, with options for a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, and 4X2 and 4X4 drivelines. It delivers top safety specs with upto 7 airbags, including driver knee airbag for extra protection.

Led by Ford’s Asia Pacific design and product development teams, the new Endeavour has been built as a completely new platform, and is a rugged, refined and well engineered vehicle that can handle both everyday commute and extreme off-road terrain equally well. It has a modern design with a robust front fascia, signature LED daytime running lights, and a wide stance that gives it an impressive road presence.

The Endeavour is plush, modern and premium inside, with superior quality material and craftsmanship that compares well with luxury sedans. It seats up to seven adults and boasts of several clever storage areas, multiple power outlets and flexible seating and cargo arrangements. The first-in-class power-fold third-row seating and fold-flat second row add to its flexibility and versatility. With all rear seats folded, one gets a massive 2,010 litres of cargo space. Other features include an electric panoramic sunroof that opens up to the first two seating rows, and active noise cancellation that minimise noise, vibration and harshness from creeping into the cabin.

The 3.2-liter Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine in the new Endeavour produces 200PS of power and 470 Nm of torque with a fuel efficiency of 10.91 km/l, making it perfect for frequent off-road adventures. The 2.2-liter Duratorq four-cylinder TDCi diesel on the other hand, offers better fuel efficiency without compromising on performance. It delivers 160PS of power and 385 Nm of torque and comes in both a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission . With manual transmission, the 2.2L engine is proven to deliver a fuel economy of 14.12 km/l and the automatic transmission returns a mileage of 12.62 km/l.

The body-on-frame construction, intelligent four-wheel drive, torque on demand and a first-in-segment advanced Terrain Management System helps drivers navigate challenging terrain with ease in the new Endeavour. There are four preset modes - Normal, Snow/Mud/Grass, Sand and Rock. These can alter the vehicle’s throttle response, transmission, four-wheel drive system and traction control to confidently tackle any situation. For extreme off-road environments, drivers can manually lock the transfer case in low-range four-wheel drive mode for increased control. It has a 225mm ground clearance and 800mm water-wading capacity which is quite impressive. The ride quality and dynamic handling has also improved thanks to a coil spring front and rear suspension and a Watt’s linkage on the rear axle. Overall, it offers a comfortable and stable ride, with agile and predictable handling in urban environments.

The Endeavour comes packed with a range of intuitive and practical technologies and the SYNC 2 makes its India debut with this. Drivers can now use simple voice commands to control the car’s entertainment system, set cabin temperature and connect mobile devices easily. There is a 8-inch touchscreen and an impressive 10-speaker sound system with deep bass. Advanced features like Roll Stability Control, Electronic Stability Program and an adjustable Speed Limiter Device improve control and the Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist reduce parking anxiety.

The new Endeavour is available in 6 colours - Sunset Red, Golden Bronze, Diamond White, Panther Black, Moondust Silver and Smoke Grey, and assembled at Ford’s integrated manufacturing facility in Chennai.
