Registrations open for Royal Enfield's inaugural edition of Himalayan Odyssey for Women

New Delhi, 23 May 2016: Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey is introducing an all Women's edition this year. Registrations are open for 20 participants for the event that will be flagged off from Delhi on 09 July 2016. Women riders can register at http://royalenfield.com/ho/register/ to participate in this 17-day adventure ride that will traverse 2200 kms, across some of the roughest terrains and highest mountain passes in the country.

The entire Himalayan Odyssey-Women (HO-W) support team including service staff, technicians, doctors and crew will all be women. While both the men and women contingents will be flagged off from Delhi together, they will ride on different routes before converging at Leh.

Himalayan Odyssey began in 2003, and over the past decade, scores of riders have had the pleasure of riding their motorcycles through the picturesque landscape of Ladakh to Leh and then beyond to Khardung La. The annual ride is an opening for those who seek to look beyond the obvious and venture into the unchartered territories exploring one of the most challenging terrains in the world.

The period between the months of May and August is the time when hundreds of Royal Enfield motorcyclists ride up to the Himalayas. This year, riders will travel through diverse terrains ranging from plains of Delhi to snow clad valleys of Ladakh. The weather would shift remarkably, from scorching hot to icy cold as riders will make their way to the picturesque regions of the Himalayas, which house within themselves one of the most hostile environments for motorcycling including Narkanda, Sarchu, Jispa and Leh, all the way to Khardung-La, one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
