Gurgaon. Locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai, the new BMW X3 xDrive28i and X5 xDrive35i have been launched in India. With this launch, the X Series is now available in both petrol and diesel variants. The ex-showroom (Delhi) price for the BMW X3 xDrive28i xLine is INR 54.90 lacs and for the BMW X5 xDrive35i Design Pure Experience (5 seater) is INR 73.50 lacs.

The 2.0L four cylinder petrol engine of the BMW X3 xDrive28i produces an output of 180 kW/ 245hp and a maximum torque of 350Nm at 1,250-4,800 rpm. The 3.0L inline six cylinder petrol engine of the BMW X5 xDrive35i on the other hand, produces an output of 225 kW/ 306hp and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 1,200-5,000 rpm. Other technologies that boost efficiency include Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Electronic Power Steering and 50:50 Weight Distribution. The Experience Control switch also enables the driver to choose between different driving modes to suit different driving conditions.
