From the race track to the skies: Jenson Button tests the Airbus A380 simulator at British Airways' Flight Training Centre

New Delhi, 27 January 2017: Jenson Button may have retired from the F1 race track, but that didn't stop the former world champion from getting back into the cockpit once again. Earlier this week he was at British Airways’ state-of-the-art Flight Training Centre near London’s Heathrow Airport to test the British Airways A380 flight simulator, perfecting his take-off, cruise and landing.

British Airways' simulator of the world’s largest commercial aircraft uses cutting edge motion, audio and graphics technology to deliver a completely immersive experience. This is where the airline’s 4,200 professional pilots are trained, and Jenson was coached on the flight deck by Head of Technical and Training, Captain Dave Thomas and Senior First Officer, William Swinburn.

The 37-year-old was thrilled with his first ever sim experience aboard the iconic double-decker four-engine aircraft, which forms the centrepiece of British Airways’ fleet along with the Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
