Gurgaon: The new BMW X5 xDrive30d M Sport has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of INR 75.90 lacs. It will be locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai and would be available only in a diesel variant.
The SUV is masculine and robust in appearance, with adaptive LED headlights, distinctive kidney grille in matt black and athletic side contours; and comes in a choice of three individual exterior colours - Alpine White (non metallic), Space Grey (metallic) and an exclusive Carbon Black (metallic). The characteristic ‘M’ badge on front wings, M designation on the door sill strip, M light alloy wheels, BMW Individual High-Gloss Shadow Line, M-specific vehicle key and Tailpipe cover with high gloss chrome covering are some of the exterior highlights. The M Aerodynamics package includes an air breather, air curtains and aero blades to improve air flow. The Adaptive M Suspension features Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension on the rear axle, with a set-up designed for a particularly sporty driving response.
The interior elements include a M leather steering wheel, full colour head-up display, electrically adjustable front seats for driver and passenger in leather upholstery and a panorama glass roof. The on board infotainment system comes with touch control and an integrated navigation system with a 26 cm colour display and 3D maps. There is a 16 speakers Harman Kardon Surround Sound system with 600 Watt output, and a host of BMW Apps and Connectivity through Bluetooth/ USB devices. Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera come as standard features.
The BMW X5 xDrive30d M Sport is powered by a TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine mated to a eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. It delivers an output of 190 kW/ 258 hp and a torque of 560 Nm. It takes just 6.9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 230 km/h.
The BMW xDrive comes as standard. The intelligent all-wheel drive system monitors driving situation constantly and distributes drive power smoothly between the axles. In terms of safety, it comes with six air bags, Anti-Lock braking system, Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control; Cornering Brake Control; Hill Descent Control; Side-impact Protection; Electronic vehicle immobiliser, integrated emergency spare wheel and crash sensor.
