Mercedes-Benz steps into MPV territory in India with the V-Class

Pune, 24 January 2019: The Mercedes-Benz V-Class has been launched in India. It is their first product in the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment in India, and combines the Benz standard of passenger car luxury with the functionality of a MPV. Manufactured in Spain, the V-Class is sold in over 90 countries.


The V-Class is a first-of-its kind product in India and offers a fair bit of flexibility. It can be adapted to market/ customer-specific demands, thanks to a wide range of equipment options and is suited for large families, sports enthusiasts and business owners on the move. The luxury appeal, comfort, efficient driving dynamics and safety features characterise the Mercedes-Benz moniker. And the versatile V-Class is expected to widen the brand appeal to newer audiences.


The V-Class will be available in both 6 and 7 seater long-wheelbase (Exclusive) and extra-long-wheelbase (Expression) variants. The V-Class Expression is priced at INR 68.40 lacs onwards and the V-Class Exclusive starts at INR 81.90 lacs (ex-showroom India).

Key features of the 6 seater Exclusive include 17" alloys, table package, rear window opening with parcel shelf and shopping crates, comfort seats in nappa leather, multifunction steering wheel in nappa leather, ambient lighting, 360 degree reversing camera with Active Park Assist, electric sliding doors, and intelligent LED headlamps.

The 7 seater Expressive Line comes with 16" alloys, comfort suspension, multifunction steering wheel, 230 mm longer wheelbase and length (more boot space), Attention Assist PRE SAFE®,  reversing camera, dynamic LED headlamps and optional features like sports pedal and leather steering wheel.

The V-Class comes with  6 airbags, 2-Zone automatic AC, rear AC control units, a touchpad with handwriting recognition and grab handles for ease of entry. 

The BS VI compliant 2.0L diesel engine in the V 220 d produces peak power of 120 kW and 380 Nm of torque. It moves from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds.

For hassle free ownership, the Star Ease maintenance packages for the V 220 d starts at INR 1,48,700 for 2 year/30,000 kms.
