Tata Motors unveils Altroz, Buzzard and H2X Concept at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show

Geneva, 05 March 2019: In its 21st year at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS), Tata Motors unveiled its next generation passenger vehicles, with four global premiers and one European premier. The line up included the ALTROZ, the ALTROZ EV, the BUZZARD* (Geneva Edition), the BUZZARD Sport (Geneva Edition) and the H2X Concept.

The brand name BUZZARD however, is only for GIMS 2019. The production version of the vehicle in India will have a new name.

The BUZZARD Sport (Geneva Edition) is the European version of the Harrier, which was launched in January 2019. Derived from Land Rover’s D8 Platform, it is designed and developed on the new-generation Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA) Architecture in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover, and comes with a host of exterior design changes made for the global markets.

The ALTROZ and the ALTROZ EV - the twin premium urban cars have been designed and developed on the new modular Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture, which allows multiple body styles to be developed, with a choice of powertrains including gasoline, diesel or full electric.

An amalgamation of design, technology, connectivity and performance, the ALTROZ aims at reinventing the urban car design with greater emphasis on connectivity and everyday mobility. This is the first premium hatchback from the company, and is scheduled to launch in India by mid-2019.

The flagship BUZZARD (Geneva Edition) is a global family SUV and a seven seater variant of the Harrier, albeit branded differently. Pitched above the Harrier and the newly updated Hexa, it is well proportioned, has expressive surfaces, futuristic safety features and greater attention-to-detail.

The showstopper of the event was the H2X Concept, a sub-compact SUV that is dynamic, versatile, and a future ready vehicle that combines performance, connectivity and interior roominess. Based on the ALFA Architecture, it takes design cues from the H5X Concept and condenses them into a smaller intelligently designed package.
